The Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk

Since 2005 the Fundraising Committee has planned, organized, and hosted the Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk on Boom Island in NE Minneapolis. It is our organization’s most significant fundraising accomplishment to date. For over 15 years the St. Anthony West Neighborhood Organization (STAWNO) Fundraising Committee has welcomed runners, walkers, and four-legged creatures, to participate in the timed 5K. Prizes and achievements are won every year! And our long-time sponsors–Mill City Running and Kramarczuck’s, keep coming back for more fun!

Since 2023 we have been teaming up with the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization (SNO) to share and grow this much-loved, active Fundraising event. We can’t wait to see how big the Riverfront 5K can become with our partners in Northeast Minneapolis!

It is our goal to raise funds for neighborhood initiatives and programs run by STAWNO & SNO that bring neighbors into contact, support civic engagement and create opportunities for making our neighborhoods better places to live.

Registration for the Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk

Pre-registration opens yearly in mid-summer. Pre-register for 2026 HERE.

After pre-registration closes on active.com, registration opens the Friday before the race at Mill City Running, 3-5 pm. Same-day registration is also available at Boom Island the morning of the race, 7:30-8:45 am.

Early Bib Pick Up is the Friday before the race, 3-5 pm, at Mill City Running (411 E. Hennepin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55414). Enjoy a 20% discount on regular-priced merchandise when you pick up in-store.

Early Registration is available at Early Packet Pick Up.

Bib Pick Up begins Race Day, Saturday, at 7:30 am and ends at 8:45 am at Boom Island Park (700 Sibley St NE)
