Volunteers Needed

Can you help Eastside Meals on Wheels deliver? The labor crisis has led to a declining volunteer workforce. How much of a decline? Over one third of Area Agencies on Aging have lost at least 50% of their volunteers since 2019! Relying on volunteers helps us serve older adults low- to no-cost meals and helps them remain in their own homes longer. SWOT Analysis

A SWOT analysis is a strategic planning and strategic management technique used to help a person or organization identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats related to business competition or project planning. It is sometimes called situational assessment or situational analysis.

Sheridan Neighborhood Organization has put together a SWOT Analysis to help layout the direction of the organization moving forward. The SWOT is a collection of ideas from a range of community members collected at Board Meetings and Community Programing Meetings throughout the Spring of 2022.

We look forward to the future of SNO and how we can better serve this community.

Lock and Dam Tour

Next week, join SNO, the Friends of the Mississippi River and Macalester College for a free walking tour of the locks and dams. The Army Corps of Engineers is beginning to consider their ownership of two dams (Lower St. Anthony Falls and Lock and Dam No. 1, known as the Ford dam) with the potential for dam removal, and they want to make sure that they engage with key stakeholders and community members to guide their approach to considering the future of these dams.  The possibility of dam removal opens up potential for new recreational opportunities and ecosystem restoration, and they want to ensure that as they engage with this process they include your perspectives.

We'll meet at the Wabun Picnic Area splash pad near the Ford Dam on August 10th at 5:30 pm.  The tour is 90 minutes long. There is limited space so please be sure to sign up!

Priorities Survey 2022

It is time to reevaluate Sheridan Neighborhood Organization’s Priorities! We are looking for ways to better engage with the community we serve as well as provide relevant programing to the people of Sheridan. Thank you for taking time to help shape the future of Sheridan Neighborhood Organization.
